Questions we hear most
How do we try a class?
Book a visit on our enrollment page or message us on WhatsApp, pick a class from the schedule, wear something comfortable and arrive ten minutes early.
Do we need a partner?
No. Partners change every few minutes in every class, and a dancer may always dance alone, with a friend or with a family member.
Which class is right for us?
Ages 5 to 8 start with kids' merengue, and ages 9 to 12 with kids' bachata. Teens choose bachata or salsa. Adults start with beginners in any dance. If you aren't sure, the teacher will tell you at the door.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothes that move, and sneakers or smooth-soled shoes. Dance shoes are welcome for adults and not needed in the first weeks.
Do I need to stay, and may I watch?
For ages 5 to 8, a grown-up stays in the building for the first weeks. For older kids, you may stay or go, as long as you tell us who is collecting. The sixth week of every session is a watch week.
What is a level, and how does a dancer move up?
Each dance has its own level. A dancer moves up when they and the teacher agree they are ready. There is no test.
What are the costumes and the showcase?
The showcase is in May. A costume is only for the showcase and the quinceañera court, and is ordered in the winter. Each extra is named, with what it is for, before you pay.
What if we miss a class?
Message us, and book a make-up in another class of the same dance and level within the session.
Which languages do you teach in?
Yanira, Belkis and Bienvenido teach in Spanish, and Yanira and Belkis also in English. We count the steps in both, and you can follow a class in either.
How does tuition work?
It depends on the class and on how many classes a week a dancer takes. Our figures are on the enrollment page, and we are happy to talk them through.
